About Department
Department of Botany was established in 1967 with Botany as Graduate course under the leadership of K. K. Chudhary. Post Graduation courses such as M.Sc. and Ph. D. introduced during the year 2023 & 2012 respectively. Botany covers all aspects of the life of plants. It includes their structure and development, physiology and biochemistry, genetics as well as their relationships with the environment and other organisms. The New Education Policy (NEP 2020) implemented for Gradation and Post Graduation courses.
The Botany department also runs skill development short term certificate courses in "Plant Propagation & Nursery Management" and “Value Added Course in Ayurveda”
Department is the recognized Research Center of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati.
The objective of the Department of Botany has been to impart quality education to students at Junior, Senior and Doctoral Research levels.
