Department Of Chemistry

Introduction

The Department of Chemistry was established on the 20th June 1967. It is one of the spacious department in faculty of Science of the College. It has total area being 210.21 sq. mts. The department consists of

i) Main laboratory hall, having arrangement for 48 students carrying out their practical

ii) Physical Laboratory and Balance Room

iii) Store Room

iv) Staff Room

The Department has nearly all equipments, Chemicals and Apparatus for conducting Practical’s for students XI to B.Sc.-III Classes. All the members of the teaching and non teaching staff have cordial relations among themselves. They make sincere efforts for the enhancement of results, both qualitatively and quantitatively. The staff members have created a linking among students for the subject Chemistry. As a result, several students have done PG in Chemistry every year. All teaching faculties of department actively participate in Various College Curricular, Co curricular and extension activities. They actively participated in Faculty development Program conducted by different Universities in India. They actively participated in Research activities such as presentation of research paper in National and Internationals Conferences. They publish Research papers in UGC listed Various National and International journals. As a result 3 faculty members completed Minor Research Projects funded by U.G.C. Department of Chemistry organized different National and International events such as Webinar, Conferences, Workshop, Guest Lectures, value added Certificate course etc. Department of Chemistry carried out various students activities like Classroom Seminars, Projects, Science Exhibition, Educational tours, Group discussion etc. Department of Chemistry has glorious history of eminent Alumni working as Scientist, Principal, Professor, Assistant Professor, Research Scholar, Research Associate, and Chemist in pharmaceutical industries. They achieved outstanding success in various fields and holding High Posts in India and Abroad.

The department is planning to introduce Post Graduate Classes and the useful short term Value added courses in future for students.
